Nappet Tours and Travel provides an opportunity for international Visitors and Christian volunteers to offer their skills to promote sustainable volunteer programs while in Kenya as they experience Village life and sharing the Love of Christ with the Locals. Nappet Prides itself as a perfect organization for Mission Tours within the country. Our core focus is providing excellent services that offer ample atmosphere for the spread of the gospel to the intended people/ group. Nappet Tours came up with the Mission Tours department, after realizing that most companies treat clients the same, with due disregard for unrivalled attention that is key within this clientele segment. The department handles STRICTLY Christian Missionaries and Volunteers though without consideration of particular denomination (interdenominational).

Mission

To build a bridge joining Christ’s followers in kenya with believers from around the world, in reaching individuals and communities with the love of God.

Program Objectives

To encourage individuals and Christian groups from around the world to travel to Kenya and learn about the people, culture and environment of the regions such as Kisumu through voluntary service and teach people about the Love of God. This program aims at recruiting volunteers who can share their skills in any part of Kenya within the villages with members of different local communities in a way that helps them achieve their own goals, without creating unhealthy dependencies or undermining the values of the local culture. Volunteers can teach in the public school, work in the local nursery, provide assistance to income raising projects, assist in the medical clinic and implement projects to improve environmental conservation, or conduct other activities that are appropriate to a volunteer’s skills and the needs of the community. University students are also encouraged to come as short time Volunteers as they learn various Cultures and do researches in various field like medical, Agriculture and Archeological discoveries.

OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLES – HOW NAPPET VOLUNTEERS WORKS

Kingdom focused -Nappet identifies existing projects that are Kingdom-focused, effective, sustainable and enthusiastic about receiving volunteer support. Volunteers serve in projects that both pre-existed and will continue after volunteers’ leave. Nappet ensures that the volunteer’s investment of resources, time and passion will have a long-term impact.
Meeting needs -Nappet provides facilitators who are an interface between the projects and our volunteers. Nappet facilitators are followers of Christ who are trained to meet the needs of volunteers and to ensure that volunteers are productive and fulfilled whilst making a meaningful contribution to the projects we support.
Valuable social interaction -Nappet handles logistics such as accommodation, food, transport and other logistical requirements, making Kenya missions accessible to those with no previous experience, and ensuring that this burden of responsibility is not carried by the projects and ministries we support. This also provides the valuable social interaction and shared experience that volunteers enjoy and benefit from.
Funding supports projects -Nappet Volunteers are self-funded and are required to pay a fee that covers all essential needs during their stay in Kenya. This fee includes a 10% project donation that is channeled directly to the projects we support.
Uplifting kenyan communities -Nappet volunteers contribution is always intended to uplift Kenya communities and individuals by a combination of practical development and a commitment to growth in Christ. We ensure that Nappet-supported programs develop maturity and freedom – not dependence.
Scenic beauty and wildlife -nappet Volunteers are exposed to the beauty, wildlife and local attractions of the areas in which they work. Hard work is balanced with enjoying the sights, wildlife, experiences and attractions of Kenya.

Eligibility

Current Available Volunteer Projects

There are many different projects that volunteers can get involved in kenya.

(1) Teach in the school
Volunteers who wish to teach in the school will instruct “supplemental” classes which students can take in addition to their regular subjects. English is one of the most commonly taught classes, and is part of the curriculum for all students in Kenya.  missionary support to schoolsIn the lower grade levels, participants can teach basic English through different types of nursery rhymes and stories, and in the higher-grade levels, they can teach vocabulary, sentence structures, grammar, writing, and verbal and oral communication skills. Participants can also instruct other subjects, such as science, math, computers, or visual arts, but may need to bring their own teaching materials, as resources in the village are limited.

(2) Sports Evangelism

missionary support to sports

Sports are very popular with girls and boys of all ages in the village. Churches are trying to find ways of connecting with non-believers  in their communities, the fact that 96 percent of the population is linked to sports in some way is a good reason to seriously consider the evangelism possibilities. Nappet Tours in partnership with various churches offers logistics required to organize youth groups, women groups and children involved in sporting activities that intentionally targets the non-believers.
Many ave received Christ during such events and still encourage volunteers who would like to participate in such events in Kenya to contact us for logistics and any other requirements.

(3) Working in Orphanages

Most of the children in Kenyan Orphanages require a lot of love, support and attention that they do not receive due to a lack of staff. These orphanages are in great need of volunteer assistance.

The challenges are many and require help of volunteers interacting with the children, whilst also providing stimulating and exciting games and education programmes for them. Here are some of the Activities a volunteer may be involved in:

•  Feeding the children .
•     Getting them dressed or ready for bed each day.
•     Playing games and having fun with the children.
•    Teaching basic education to the younger children.
•    Teaching English, Maths and Sciences to older children at the school.
•    Teaching extra activities, such as sports or sexual education workshops.
•    Providing lots of love and support to the orphans.

(4) Community Healthcare

Volunteers can work with local health care providers to assist in medical clinics.
The shortage of trained healthcare workers in Kenya means that the workload on professionals is huge. There are many people out in the rural areas who need healthcare services who aren't not even going to the clinics .But with the help of volunteers ,they are able to move from door to door and fetch them out for treatment .The most challenging diseases being AIDS ,TB,Malaria etc.
