Kilimanjaro Mountain – Marangu route

At 5896m, snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, known as the ceiling of Africa, has the highest peak in Africa. It is one of the continent's most magnificent sights. It rises through lush rainforest, alpine meadows and barren lunar landscape to the twin summits of Kibo and Mawenzi. For most of the trekkers the goal is always to reach Uhuru peak, Kibo's highest point. A person of average health and strong determination can reach the summit without ropes or technical climbing experience it usually takes five days (four nights) to climb to the summit and down through Marangu route, the most popular route.
On the Marangu route, campers sleep in huts while they sleep in tents on all other routes. Other routes take a little longer but are often less-traveled and have more interesting scenery. Its upper section, which is often covered with snow and ice, is a serious undertaking. A mountain guide accompanied by a cook and porters who carry the food, camping equipment and other supplies lead each climb.
Day 0: Arrive in Arusha
Arrive late in the evening at Kilimanjaro Airport. Meet and greet by Nappet Tours & Travel staff and then be transferred to your lodge in Arusha.

Day 1: 1 Arusha – Marangu
Depart Arusha for Marangu Gate, after the gate fees payments, you will start climbing to Mandara Hut. You will have a Picnic lunch on the way. This walking will take 3hours-5hours. Altitude is 2700 m.
• Dinner & Overnight at Mandara Camp.
Day 2: Horombo
After breakfast, with picnic lunch, proceed with your climbing, lunch on the way. The walk will take 4-7 hours. Altitude is 3700 m.
• Dinner & Overnight at Horombo Camp.
Day 3: Kibo
After breakfast, continue with the climbing towards the Kibo Hut. Lunch will be on the way. The walk will take 5-7 hours. Altitude here is 4700 m.
• Dinner & Overnight at Kibo Hut.
Day 4: Uhuru Peak – Horombo
After breakfast; climb to Uhuru Peak, with your picnic lunch. Then Descend to Horombo Hut. The walk will take 7-8 hours. Altitude is 5896 m.
• Dinner & Overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 5: Marangu – Arusha
After breakfast, with picnic lunch boxes descend to Marangu Gate. Here you will meet our vehicle and you will be transferred back to Arusha then to your Hotel.
• Overnight: (Luxury/Standard/Budget) Hotel/Lodge – HB
Day 6: Arusha / Depart
After breakfast spend the rest of the day in Arusha, with a farewell lunch, some shopping and a dayroom to prepare for your flight home this evening.
