9 Days Kenya and Tanzania Tour

Day 1 – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK – Kenya – Tanzania Border After your breakfast in your hotel you will have a short briefing and board your van and drive south through the Athi-Kapiti plains to Namanga the border town of Kenya and Tanzania. You will have a brief stop over here and proceed further to Amboseli National Park. You will have a game drive en-route to the Lodge for lunch. Amboseli is Kenya's biosphere reserve and in the Maasai language Amboseli means 'a place of salty dust' from the usually dry lakebed, which forms much of the park. After a sumptuous lunch the early afternoon will be spent at leisure. At 3.30 you can take a cup of coffee to be followed by a late afternoon game drive at 4.00pm. At 6.30pm you will return to the lodge to freshen up just before Dinner, which will be served as from 7.30pm, entertainment and overnight will be at the lodge
Day 2 – Amboseli ParkAnother day unfolds with a wake up call and a cup of coffee or tea to awaken you, as you get into your vans ready for another game drive. Animals expected to be seen here include the elephants, hyena’s, giraffes, buffalos, lions and much more. You will return to the lodge at around 8.30am for your buffet breakfast. This will be followed by a moment of leisure until 3.30pm. An optional visit to the Masai Village will enlighten you on the lifestyle of the Maa speaking group that has clang to their traditions. This will be followed by a game drive round the park. At around 6.30pm return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the Lodge
Day 3 – L. MANYARA NATIONAL PARKAfter a sumptuous breakfast you will proceed to Namanga a border town between Kenya and Tanzania, which is also a shopping town for the Maasai’s. After the immigration formalities you will proceed to Arusha in Tanzania arriving at Impala Hotel for Lunch. You will afterwards proceed to the hotel for check in and relaxation just before dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – L. Manyara This day after breakfast you will proceed to L. Manyara National Park with packed lunch for a full day disposal. This park in known for both big and small mammals especially the tree climbing lions that can be seen along with a diversity of vegetation, Giant anthills, and much more. The lake is a fresh water body on the inlet but most of the remainder of the lake is alkaline waters, providing a habitat to white pelicans, sacred ibis, and yellow-billed storks, greater and lesser flamingos, etc. Most of the water channels from the Ngorongoro highlands down through the rift escarpment to the lake. Some of the water comes from the hot springs found in the park – (which are dry at some periods of the year). Dinner and overnight will be at the Lodge
Day 5 – SERENGETI National Park You will be picked up from the hotel and proceed on to Ngorongoro conservation area and after the park formalities drive on to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word "Serenget" meaning "wide open space". This is an extension of the Mara Plains in Kenya and renowned for its concentrations of game. You will arrive at the Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch you will be at leisure and in the evening embark on an evening game drive. Animals expected to be seen here include the lion, elephants, leopard, buffallo’s, wildebeste and much more. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 6 – SERENGETI Park This day you will be in Serengeti with at least two game drives and all meals. Serengeti like Mara experiences a remarkable wildebeest migration every year. This time round the majority of the animals are here and this gives you an advantage of viewing much game. The National Park, with an area of 12,950 square kilometres, is as big as Northern Ireland, but its ecosystem, which includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Maswa Game Reserve and the Maasai Mara Game reserve (in Kenya), is roughly the size of Kuwait. It lies between the shores of Lake Victoria in the west, Lake Eyasi in the south, and the Great Rift Valley to the east.
Day 7 -NGORONGORO CRATER After a hefty breakfast you will have will drive to the famed Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro Crater is widely considered to be the “8th” Wonder-of-the World. 12 miles wide, 2000 feet deep, and covering an area of 102 square miles, it is the largest intact volcanic crater on earth and home to a spectacular concentration of wildlife. You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. After check-in the rest of the afternoon will be at leisure with dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 8 – NGORONGORO CRATER FLOORYou will be picked up from your hotel and visit the most spontaneous view of the Ngorongoro Crater floor. The crater hosts an estimated 30,000 animals on its floor, including large herds of buffalo, wildebeest, elephant, hippo, lions, and the endangered black rhino. Absent from the crater are impala, topi and oryx, giraffes. Only mature elephant bulls are present; elephant herds are noticeably absent from the crater floor because the cows and calves tend to prefer the forested highlands. They sometimes appear at the crater rim but only rarely venture down into the grasslands. You will have a picnic lunch opportunity at the crater floor. After lunch you will return to the lodge to relax. In the evening you will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 9 – ARUSHA – NAIROBI This day you will bid the crater goodbye and proceed towards Arusha and onwards to the Kenya-Tanzania boarder and after the immigration formalities you will proceed to Nairobi.
